LECT's Soup Stop (Industrial District)

The game changers are really the sandwiches

I came to Lect’s hoping for some bomb soup and I kinda got it.

More importantly I got a bomb sandwich and some good soup.

I headed out to LECT’S on a rainy day in January in Seattle as part of a fat-fest where I was going to LECT’s but then also a Mexican place called Lorena’s Kitchen afterword because… I had a small breakfast? It was a rare day as I was working from home, had enough time to drive out for lunch, and wasn’t lazy AF.

There’s a number of enjoyable things about this place:

1) Soups change on the reg and the menu for what soup is available for what day is posted online

2) The sandwiches are killer

3) When it’s not raining the outdoor space to sit and eat is quite pleasant. There’s also abundant street parking.

I opted to go the full gluttony route -you know, for science. I’ll forego the play by play analysis as you can draw your own conclusions on what looks good in the picture carousel. I will note the lunch combo soup and sando comes with a side of macaroni salad as well as a cookie. This ends up being a large lunch so if you’re not super hungry I’d go a la carte. In the end I didn’t eat the cookie, the mac salad was “OK”, I didn’t like the broccoli cheddar soup, and I LOVED the cuban press nacho. The cheesyness just really hit the sandwich out of the park for me.
